Abstract
An approach to systematically assess risk visualization strategies in a homeland defense context is presented. The approach consists of using the perspectives of utility theory, Analytic Hierarchy Process, and human-in-the-loop simulation to determine the risk posture, relative prioritization, and action heuristics of a decision maker. Initial data from a pilot study that has provided insights on the viability of the research method and ideas for revising the study are outlined.
