Teaching adult students to use computerized resources: Utilizing Lawler's keys to adult learning to make instruction more effective

Adult students are found in most institutions of higher education today, yet when librarians design instruction on computerized resources such as online catalogs, the Internet, and CD-ROM tools, they seldom consider the principles of adult education or realize that adults learn differently than traditionally aged students. This article uses Patricia Lawler's Keys to Facilitating Adult Learning to help librarians understand the best ways to teach computerized resources to adult students.
