Abstract
The effect of antimony on the crystal structure and superconducting properties of the high-Tc superconductor system BiPbSrCaCuO has been examined by resistivity and susceptibility measurements, electron diffraction and high-resolution electron microscopy. Tc0 as obtained by resistivity measurements was increased by Sb-doping from 85 to 107K. Polytypoid structures adjacent to grain boundaries have not been detected for samples containing Sb. Two modulation types in b-direction with periodicities of 2.5 and 3.8 nm have been observed.
