Abstract
Precise measurement of the temperature dependence of electrostriction has been carried out on single crystal samples of Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3 below and above the Curie temperature using a newly developed sample holder The polarization-related electrostrictive Q coefficients decrease gradually with an increase in temperature, and do not exhibit any significant changes around the average Curie Temperature of 130°C. The Q coefficients determined near 160°C are as follows: Q11=3.43 ×10-2[m4C-2], Q12=1.52×10-2 [m4C-2], and Q44=1.74×10-2[m4C-2].
