Abstract
Spontaneous Brillouin scattering was used to determine the vibrational relaxation of liquid chloroform as a function of temperature. Comparison of experimental results with theoretical predictions leads to the conclusion that there is a simultaneous relaxation of all vibrational modes of the molecule.
