Abstract
This chapter looks at the central space the collaboratory takes in the 50+20 vision, which redefined management education for the Rio+20 conference. It explains the symbolism of benches and looks at the roots of the word "collaboratory," all the way from its origins in the 1980s in the ITC world to the way we now define, understand, and use the term.
