Abstract

This paper proposes the power extended call admission algorithm to serve more users of the WCDMA system in resource limited environment. Even though the power resource can be added through the use of the repeater, it can increase the total interference level. To avoid this problem, we develop a channel switching method between the base station (BS) and the repeater which provides a chance to serve the user through better channel. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm provides an advantage in the data throughput and blocking probability in case that high data rate traffics are heavily requested in the cell.
