Abstract

The demand for electricity and natural gas in the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors of the NE US for the period 1967-1977 is the focus. A seemingly unrelated regression estimation is used in order to incorporate the information associated with disturbances common to a sector or a fuel. Explains the formulation and specification of the model including a discussion of the estimation procedures, followed by the results of the estimation and a comparison of the results with those of other similar studies. -from Authors
