Abstract
We consider the homogenization problem for an elastic material which contains a distributed array of gas bubbles. It is assumed that the spacing of the holes and their diameters are of the same order of magnitude. The main result is that we find an explicit expression of the effective module of the limiting material as the spacing of the hole goes to zero. The rate of homogenization is also obtained.
