Abstract
The Coulomb interaction of the β-electron with bound electrons of the atom (screening correction) is calculated using the Feyman diagram technique up to the ξ2 ≡ α2 v2 terms. Our result differs from the previous calculations which neglected some of the essential diagrams. The screening correction found is several times larger than according to the semi-classical approach to Rose. Several applications including corrections to G′V extracted from the superallowed 0+-0+ transitions and the interpretation of Simpson data are briefly considered also.
