Abstract

The NASA Kepler mission for studies of extra-solar planets, with expected launch early in 2009, will provide a large set of excellent data for asteroseismology. Here we provide a brief presentation of the mission and discuss some aspects of the expected results of the asteroseismic investigations and the organization of the effort in the Kepler Asteroseismic Science Consortium (KASC).
