N2 - From a Confucianism perspective, this study examined the mediating role of harmony on the relationship between transformational leadership and leadership effectiveness. A new measurement scale for harmony was developed and tested. Data were collected from 312 full-time employees of nine different organizations in China through an on-site survey. The study used a pilot test, factor analysis, reliability, and validity test, analysis of bivariate correlations, and bootstrapping test. The results showed a significant relationship between transformational leadership and leadership effectiveness, with harmony partially mediating this relationship. The measurement scale for harmony was statistically validated as well.
