N2 - In this epilogue we connect contemporary discussion concerning Southern epistemologies and methodologies in language studies with decolonizing Higher Education. This means that we cannot divorce Southern epistemologies from the regimes of truth that guide the modes of production, dissemination and appropriation of knowledge in the global world, which also includes the discussion concerning ethics and positionality in research. We argue that this discussion should be radically embedded in a broader political and economic context, by considering the role of neoliberalism in shaping contemporary universities.
