Abstract

Various factors that need to be addressed before outsourcing of information technology (IT) functions are discussed. The outsourcing company requires a strong communication infrastructure to make outsourcing work. The brand must be protected through accountability for the vendor's actions and by transference of the vendor's reputation. Successful projects ensures the unambiguous definition of the project methodology, scope, schedule and deliverables and a clear understanding by both the parties.
