Abstract

The scope of potential sp2 nanotubes is expanded by describing the theory of boron oxide and beryllium diboride nanotubes. These systems have unique electronic properties that are unattainable in the known systems. It is shown that the energetic cost against curving these systems into tubes is less than that for carbon and boron nitride.
