Abstract
From the preceding discussion it is evident that DTA and DSC are powerful techniques that can yield a large body of information concerning the thermal properties of polymers. DTA/DSC along with other thermal analysis techniques not elaborated on here (e.g., thermogravimetric analysis) have contributed greatly to our knowledge of polymer physical properties. The enormous development in the field of polymer thermal analysis in the last 15 years seems likely to continue in the future and lead to an even better understanding of the structure, organization, and properties of polymer systems.
