Thermal conductivity of Bi2Sr2CaCu2Ox superconductors in high magnetic fields

Abstract

The thermal conductivity of high temperature superconductors provides an understanding of the nature of the charge carriers, phonons, vortices, and the scattering processes between them. Recently, the magnetothermal conductivity has been considered to be a key factor in the understanding of the vortex dynamics. Here we report thermal conductivity measurements of bulk Bi2Sr2CaCu2Ox superconductors in an applied magnetic field up to 20 T. The measurements were taken for a wide range of temperatures around Tc. The superconducting parameters were recovered from the obtained data using theoretical model developed by Ausloos et al. [1].
