Abstract
This Chapter delves into the recent developments in the field of heat transfer across solid-liquid interfaces. The focus of the literature surveyed is on molecular dynamics modeling research, but seminal experimental and theoretical contributions are included to present a comprehensive perspective of the state-of-the-art. The objective of this Chapter is to individually discuss the main parameters governing thermal transport across solid-liquid interfaces, while establishing connections between them. Challenges to conventional notions are critically discussed by providing sound theoretical, computational, and experimental arguments. The findings presented herein could be used as the basis for engineering interfaces with tunable heat transfer characteristics.
