Abstract

The temperature dependence of resistivity and thermoelectric power (TEP) of purple bronzes AMo6O17 (A = Na, K and Tl) were carefully measured. The TEP property in the sodium compound was found to be very different from that in the isostructural Tl/K compounds, in which a negative minimum peak near 30 K was observed. The possible origins were explained by the subtle differences of the nesting properties of the "hidden" 1D Fermi surface modified by their symmetry.
