Abstract
The Food, Agriculture, and Nutrition Division (FAN) of the Special Libraries Association (SLA) recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. Throughout that tenure, FAN has evolved from a 1968 organizational breakfast meeting of six librarians who worked in food-related trades to include agriculture and nutrition as additional major emphases in its charter. With a membership of more than 300 individuals, FAN continues to evolve each year as an active and vital division of SLA. Recent FAN milestones include revising the Division bylaws, updating the strategic plan, and beginning to offer Continuing Education courses at the Annual Conference. FAN plans for the near future include the introduction of the Division Homepage.
