Abstract

We mainly focus our investigation on the throughput performance of automatic-repeat-request (ARQ) techniques in conjunction with adaptive rate schemes. First, it is explained how three types of ARQ techniques are combined with adaptive rate transmission. Then, we present analytical expressions for throughput performance of these three ARQ techniques as combined with adaptive rate schemes. We also consider the channel estimation error for throughput analysis and compare the performance to throughput performance when perfect channel estimation is assumed.
