Abstract

The Beltrami-Maxwell equations for free space arise as specializations of the Beltrami-Maxwell equations for general material continua. Here, we investigate the novel concept of time-dependent Beltrami fields to solve the electromagnetic radiation problem in free space. We derive Beltrami field representations in terms of dyadic Green functions and vector potentials. Closed-form results for the Beltrami fields are presented for elementary point sources.
