Time-domain observations of direct modulation of lightwaves in optical fibers

Abstract

He-Ne laser lightwaves in an optical fiber are directly modulated by applying audio frequency modulating electric fields at the input end. Temporal drift of the output signal and its dependency on detector location are presented.
