Abstract

The applications of tough-coated hard powders (TCHP) are discussed. It has been found that TCHP significantly exceeds the wear resistance of conventional metal cutting and forming tools. This enables profound improvements in the fuel economy, and increased engine power density per unit weight/volume of adiabatic combustion engines.
