Transfer functions for bent circular lifelines

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

An advanced analytical approach is employed to analyze a bent lifeline structure system with circular cross-section. Important parameters including embedment, frequency intensity of earthquake motion and soil properties are considered in evaluating the seismic response of the structure. The development of ″transfer functions″ and their importance and applicabilities are discussed in detail. The paper concludes with a large number of examples.
