Abstract
The article chronicles efforts to improve the monographic cataloging process at the University of Iowa Libraries through a series of decisions, actions, and analyses over a one-year period from an administrator's perspective. The process of change including discussions between catalogers and administrators of issues and challenges relating to cataloging are described. Major changes in organizational structure, workflow and management strategies resulted in increased monographic cataloging productivity.
