Abstract

Provide effective analgesia for acute pain from rib fractures, thoracic surgeries, chest tube placement. Useful for diagnosis and management of chronic chest wall pain secondary to posthoracotomy syndrome, postmastecomy pain syndrome, mestastatic cancer pain, posherpetic neuralgia. Can be used as diagnostic block prior to the destruction of intercostal nerves for chronic cancer pain.
