Abstract
This report presents an ultrasonic field analysis program that can be used for transducer design in the nuclear industry. Calculation routines that make use of Huygen's principle in a field analysis are introduced, which enable optimizations of axial and lateral resolution, beam symmetry, and gain variation throughout the ultrasonic field. Mathematical details and sample problems that show comparisons with classical results are presented. Problems such as transducer shape effects, pulse shape effects, and crystal vibration variation are discussed.
