Abstract
In this article a novel optical nondestructive evaluation technique based on real-time particle image velocimetry has been proposed for the single-cell contractile force measurement. The optical experimental setup is described. Some preliminary experimental results on the measured fluid velocity field and its potential application to the single-cell contractile force measurement are presented.
