Abstract

The authors describe the use of technology-based active and collaborative learning assignments to promote critical thinking. Although the innovative assignments are part of a nursing transition course required for returning registered nurses, they have the potential for use in traditional generic nursing programs as well. The assignments are aimed at developing skill in collaboration, promoting creativity in solving problems, and actively engaging students in their learning.
