Abstract

This paper provides an overview of a predictive control (SimPC) approach to select and schedule resources, and the validation processes followed for this complex simulation model developed for the control of a real manual DC. The validation of SimPC is divided in two parts, the data collection and the analysis, which include a discussion of the challenges faced and the development of accuracy metrics to measure the validity of the model. The major contributions of this paper include presenting a non-traditional simulation modeling approach (simulation for control) together with the potential problems of validating this type of models in practice.
