N2 - A new vibrating-tube densimeter, combined with a new detection method for determining phase transitions, was used to measure vapor pressures p and densities ρ at several pressures near saturation for aqueous solutions of NaCl, KCl, and CaCl2 at molality m = (0.25, 0.5, 1, and 3) mol·kg-1 and temperature T = 623 K. CaCl2 solutions were also measured at T = 643 K. The measured difference Δρ in density between pure water and the solution was used to calculate the density of the solution, the molar volume, and the average compressibility of the solution. The uncertainties of the measurements were: vapour pressure, ±0.004·p; Δρ = ±(0.0005+10-4Δp/MPa) g·cm-3.
