Abstract

Increasing attention is being paid to mass digitizing as a way of increasing the digital conversion of existing map coverages. This involves technology such as automated drum, or flatbed scanners. Along with coverages such as Landsat, these produce raster-based data, yet the data often need converting to vector format for use in most existing software systems. The conversion problems of raster to vector to raster are discussed in detail. -after Author
