Abstract

Free-space optical (FSO) communication has drawn significant interest from automobile industries because of its complementary advantages compared to radio frequency (RF). If the transceivers can be tracked under vehicular environments, the performance of FSO communication will be enhanced to a large extent. Hence, we labeled the transceiver on the vehicle by a specific marker and track it. In this paper, we are presenting the demonstration of a vehicular FSO communication system which has a small field-of-view (FOV) and tracks the transceiver applying real-time recognition and tracking.
