Abstract
This chapter discusses the power of poetry and shares how children in K-12 can participate in reading and writing poetry. While there are hundreds of new books published annually, the focus of this chapter is on newly published books from 2025. We highlight the newest poetry books for young readers (PK-2), intermediate readers (3-5), middle grades (6-8), and young adult poetry books (9-12). The chapter closes with a list of important websites and resources. By providing these tools, the co-editors aim to empower teachers to effectively incorporate the newest poetry titles into their literacy instruction, ultimately fostering a love of poetry and language in their students.
