Abstract
Explicit quantum mechanical scattering calculations were carried out to investigate the quenching of rotation and vibration of a heteronuclear molecule at ultracold temperatures. The He-CO system was considered as an illustrative example. Good agreement was obtained with the experimental results for the vibrational relaxation CO (v=1).
