Abstract

This paper provides a mathematical model for voltage natural balancing process in multi-phase capacitor-clamped multicell converters. The analysis leads to state-space model of the multi-phase flying capacitor multicell converters. This analytic model can be utilized to investigate the start-up and steady states of clamping capacitor voltages. To provide verification, numeric solution results for multi-phase capacitor-clamped multicell converter's analytic model in different cases are presented.
