Abstract
Negative detuning of the passband frequency of the wavelength filter, particularly used as a wavelength demultiplexer at the central office in the loop-back WDM-PON, is demonstrated. This method is experimentally proved to suppress further the residual downstream component included in the optical upstream data in the remodulation scheme, resulting in improvement of the upstream performance.
