Abstract
Examines all the current factors involved in planning appeals, beginning with the planning committee's decision to refuse an application. The main issues considered are the huge costs of appeals, the rapid rise in the number of appeals, and the conduct of the inquiry. It is concluded that the system is fair, open and impartial and the winner is the one who deserves to as in a sporting contest. -A.Gilg
