Abstract

Auction based dynamic optimization helps in real-time problem solving by using available time to produce an acceptable solution. While transporting products from a manufacturer to the customers, load makeup plays a vital role. Load make-up comprises of solving a series of planning problems at the beginning of the planning period. Global optimization for such problems may not be possible due to real-time requirements. In this paper, we discuss the design, development and implementation of an auction based dynamic optimization method with exploitation of the real-time information for solving the load makeup problem.
