Abstract

A wrist fracture dynamic testing system to simulate skating falls was presented. Based on a limited number of trials, vertical-only impacts resulted in consistently more bony injury that included a high frequency of carpal fracture. It was assumed that results of testing with specimens from younger donors would more closely represent fracture rates and severity in skaters.
