Abstract
YBa2Cu3Ox powders were sintered in sealed Ag and Ag/10% Pd wraps and melted on Ag/10% Pd foils. The melting was performed at 980°C under an O2 pressure of 103 Pa. Although YBa2Cu3Ox was successfully melt-processed, some interdiffusion occurred between it and the Ag Pd alloy. The superconducting transition temperature was 86-88 K for YBa2Cu3Ox processed with Ag Pd alloy and 89 K for YBa2Cu3Ox processed with pure Ag.
