Abstract
In this chapter, we-three Latina women engage in a collective plática (Fierros & Delgado Bernal, 2016) sharing testimonios de profesionistas infused with traditional beliefs, family expectations, cherished desires, and learned values. These testimonios expose coloniality (Quijano 2000) and uncover happenings throughout our academic careers as we clashed with the hegemonic, heteropatriarchal Westernized, monolingual, academic model of the U.S. higher education (Saavedra & Pérez, 2018).
